I live in southeast New York State. I retired early a few years back, but I think that I need to enter a new phase in some capacity. I studied engineering among other things, spent a lot of years remodeling houses, played a lot of music, starting with rock, studying classical, and ending up with contemporary Christian, doing worship team and solo work in churches.
I had a couple of bad experiences with Church leadership, and am without a church home. But I am committed to the Lord, have Christian friends, and stay in the Word and prayer.
My newest passion is motorcycling. I started two years ago and it has been challenging and rewarding. I have a Yamaha FZ6, and it's awesome.
I've also worked on getting in shape, and am doing a lot better than several years ago.
I'm single, and that's ok. I'm open to change, but it has to be in the Lord. Otherwise, I'm blessed "just as I am".
My favorite movies are, roughly in order:
- Jesus of Nazareth
- Chariots of Fire
- The Perfect Stranger (this is not the pop film with Hale Berry)
- A Walk to Remember
- Love Comes Softly
- The Count of Monte Cristo
- The Matrix
My fav books other than the Bible, to which there is no comparison, are, roughly in order:
- Watchman Nee's "The Spiritual Man"
- Norman Grubbs' "Rees Howells, Intercessor" (those two vie for the top spot)
- Sholem Asch's "Mary" and "The Apostle"
- and a new entry, Neil Cole's "Organic Church".
About that last book - I'm thoroughly orthodox, but I'm interested in new ways - which are actually old ways - to do church. I think the church in America needs a major reworking according to the model in the Book of Acts.
Fav musicians - Michael Card, Mark Schultz, John Michael and Terry Talbot.
My basic rule for online activity is: Try to edify, and do all things for the glory of God.
Be Blessed,
